Pneumonia Vaccine FAQ
The Pneumonia vaccine protects against pneumococcal disease.
There are 4 different pneumonia vaccines:
- PCV13 (Prevnar 13®)
- PCV15 (Vaxneuvance®)
- PCV20 (Prevnar 20®
- PPSV23 (Pneumovax23®)
We only carry PCV20, which is approved for individuals older than 18 years of age.
Patients who are 65 years and older whom have never received a Pneumonia vaccine or previous vaccination history is unknown. Patients 19-64 years with certain risk factors – such as asthma, kidney and liver disease, diabetes, cardiovascular issues, asplenia, and sickle cell disease.
- Fever
- Nausea
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Muscle Pain
- Soreness and redness at injection site
